Curtis Bosum was re-elected as Chief of the Ouje-Bougoumou Cree Nation. He received much of his inspiration from growing up in a family that included a former Chief who is now the Cree Nation’s Grand Chief and a mother who dedicated many years in the service of their community in many capacities.
Prior to his election as Chief in 2015, Curtis Bosum has had considerable experience in a number of capacities related to the economic development of his community. He has worked as a Business Development Coordinator, Investment Portfolio Manager, a Manager of the community’s Socio-Economic Development Programs, and also worked as the Chief Executive Officer of the community’s local development corporation where he was responsible for the management of a range of community-owned enterprises. Earlier in his career, Curtis Bosum was involved in organizing the opening of a new sports and RV dealership in Ottawa, and also served as the General Manager of a community-owned snowmobile dealership in Chibougamau.
In addition to his passion for serving his community, he has maintained a passion for hockey, fishing, hunting and spending time with his extended family in his community’s traditional territory with his family teaching them the Cree traditional way of life.
